I - Every Saga Has a Beginning...

Two years ago,Smallpox learned C language and started to learn OpenGL programming.In order to progress,he created a program called Universe generator.The aim of this project was to create a 3D scene just adding objects with a MS-DOS console.Then he began to learn more about the 3D design world and begin to use modeler like 3D Studio Max and Blender.Viewing the power of a modeler,he began to write a first 3D engine called Gengine.After 6 month,Smallpox gave up because of his exams.

II - Damocles's birth...

Two month later,Smallpox tried to create a game called TigerUnit using the Damocles 's last version.This attempt was a fiasco because of a bad data structure of the game engine.That's why,he decided to create from nothing.Damocles was born.The original names was Evolution3D and eve3D.It change to Damocles because some famous projects was using this name.The first version released was the 0.19 (May 2004).It is a Gengine's version entirely reprogrammed in C++ with a data structure entirely redesigned.

III - 1 + 1 = 3...

During his first year in his new school,Smallpox met Adn which was a powerful network C programmer.He asked him to join the project and Adn accepted.Few months later,during a french programming championship called Prologin, Smallpox met another programmer called Ivoire.After talking of the project,Ivoire sayed that he wanted to learn OpenGL and he was interested to join the project.That why Smallpox decided to separate the project in three parts:

This separation was necessary in order to make the development easier.Damocles is the name of the Game engine including each parts.

IV - Future of Damocles...

Now the project is on Sourceforge and has been download many times.The advance of this project is in Description Section.The project will carry on the longer as possible.I hope to develop,at less, one game based on this engine.I'm also searching people who wants to join us,whatever the skills.If you are interested,please contact Smallpox.
